Wade Ma assisted a Mandarin-speaking mother in a Calgary family law dispute involving child support, parenting circumstances, disclosure issues, and the father’s failure to pay support for a period of time.
The matter required a careful review of income information, parenting arrangements, financial disclosure, and the child’s needs. At a chambers appearance, Wade advanced the mother’s position that income should be imputed to the father where proper financial information had not been provided. The Court set an income figure for support purposes, allowing child support to be calculated and enforcement to begin through the Maintenance Enforcement Program.
